We are learning to solve addition problems by counting the objects.

Kairo's Voice:  "It was not hard. Two plus two is four.  I could do it with the big numbers too."  

Soon we will be doing subtraction/minus/takeaway !!! Said Mrs Wyatt.

Writing By Myself !!!

Today Kairo used his wordcard to help him write two sentences.  The amazing thing was that Kairo did not ask the teacher for any help, and he was sooooooooo proud of himself, and Mrs Wyatt was VERY proud of him too !!!  Kairo has been showing a lot of resilience, during class time, and he has learnt a lot of his letters and sounds.  Kairo has also learnt to recognise and read some of the words on his wordcard so that it can also help him to write his stories.  In the photo above, you will see him using a special whiteboard.  This is called a 'talkboard', and Kairo records his sentence/story, and then keeps replaying it so he can remember the words to write down.  Tino Pai to Mahi Kairo !

Pohutukawa and Honey Bee Art:

What did you learn?

* Draw stalks in proportion.

* Sketch whisper lines.

* Rollint the clay, and making it smooth.

* How to use and paint on Indian ink.

* Merging the colours together when we paint them.
